CANTO, MICROSOFT, SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF PORT OF SPAIN AND UWI LAUNCH FIRST DIGITAL LITERACY COURSE TO COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

CANTO, Soroptimist International of Port of Spain, Microsoft Trinidad & Tobago and UWI – St Augustine have partnered to provide an adult computer literacy program in the twin island state of Trinidad & Tobago. The initiative forms part of the annual International Women’s Day activities celebrated each year on the 8th March. This marks the economic, political and social achievements of women. The theme for 2013 is “The Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum” . The partnership stems from organizations which support and promote the equalization of ICT among the female gender in Trinidad & Tobago. The program currently accommodates 20 women with little or no computer exposure from the eastern zone in Trinidad and aims to equip participants with the basic skill set in navigating today’s Click Here For More….

CANTO’s 29th Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition Plus 7th Human Resource Forum co-hosted by SETAR to be held in Aruba

CANTO and co-host SETAR welcome all to the 29th Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition which will be held at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino – Aruba, 14th -19tth July, 2013. The event will be held in conjunction with the 7th Annual Human Resource Forum. . The highly anticipated Conference will focus on broadband with the theme “Towards a SMART Broadband Caribbean Community”. The CANTO membership will be urged to focus their attention on the BIIPAC Project. The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) between CANTO, IDB and the Caribbean Governments, is to support the design of national broadband strategies in the Caribbean region and to identify the regional aspects that need to be incorporated into these strategies in order to promote regional coordination. Even though participating countries differ in terms of their competitive reality and regulatory framework, the telecommunications‟ sector presents similar challenges in the region and addressing these challenges in a coordinated manner will create synergies, benefiting each individual country while promoting greater regional coordination. We look forward to working with you to realize BIIPAC’s objectives!
